Lakers slay Kings behind suffocating defense, big rebounding performance

The Lakers dominated the glass with 15 offensive rebounds, led by 20 from Anthony Davis, to pick up a big 113-100 win over the Kings on Thursday. Anthony Davis passed Serge Ikaba to become 30th all-time in blocks. While he struggled shooting the ball, he still tallied 21 points with a season-high 20 rebounds while also adding six blocks, four assists and three steals.

Lakers declaw Grizzlies behind strong defensive showing

The Lakers picked up one of their best wins of the season on Sunday, taking down a Grizzlies team that came in riding high with a wire-to-wire win, 116-110. After opening up a 23-point lead, the purple and gold endured a second-half comeback from Memphis, much of it coming after Anthony Davis briefly exited the game with an injury, before holding on late.

Lakers offense struggles in another road loss to Wolves

The Lakers had their chances late but came up short to the Wolves on Friday, falling in Minnesota without LeBron, 97-87. Rui Hachimura lost a late clutch rebound with the team down five, D’Angelo Russell had a pair of open 3-pointers fail to drop with the team down seven and Anthony Davis and Rui failed to corral a rebound with the team down eight all in the final three minutes of the game.

Lakers snap losing skid against Blazers without LeBron James

Anthony Davis and Rui Hachimura carried the Lakers early and D’Angelo Russell caught fire in the fourth as the Lakers picked up another win at home even with LeBron James on Sunday, taking down the Blazers, 107-98.

The Golden State Valkyries held their expansion draft on Friday, which allowed them to pick one player from each team in the league. They selected forward Stephanie Talbot from the Los Angeles Sparks.

Lakers fall to Hawks in overtime to close road trip

Despite a much-improved effort after Wednesday’s blowout loss to the Heat, the Lakers closed their road trip with another loss, falling in Atlanta, 134-132. A series of gaffes down the stretch in overtime saw the Lakers choke away the game with Trae Young’s 3-pointer with under 10 seconds left giving the Hawks the win.

Wednesday’s game was ugly for the Lakers, who were demolished 134-93 on the road against the Heat in Miami. The Heat set an all-time franchise record for 3-pointers made in a game with 24 threes.

After grinding out a win in Utah on Sunday, the Lakers lacked energy and struggled on both ends of the floor, falling to the Wolves in a blowout, 109-80. D’Angelo Russell went 4-5 from behind the arc and ended the game with a team-high 20 points. Anthony Davis scored 12 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished five assists and had a block.

Gabe Vincent goes supernova with 10 points as shorthanded Lakers win in Utah

Down three rotation guards, the Lakers rode big games from Anthony Davis and LeBron James to pick up a big road win on Sunday, knocking off the Jazz by a final of 105-104. Anthony Davis ended with 33 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and a block. LeBron James scored 27 points with 14 assists, five rebounds and two blocks.

The Lakers will not go back-to-back in the NBA Cup. In a must-win game against the Thunder to keep their hopes alive of moving out of the group, the Lakers were undone by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and errors down the stretch as they fell to OKC, 101-93.

Lakers bounce back in the second half to fry the Pelicans for fifth straight win

After an atrocious first half, the Lakers bounced back in the second to win against the Pelicans 104-99 on Saturday night. Anthony Davis scored 31 points had 14 rebounds and two steals. LeBron James had 21 points to go with his seven rebounds and five assists. He also passed John Stockton for the fifth-most games played in NBA history. Dalton Knecht had the first 20+ point game of his young career. He went 10 for 17 from the field for 27 points.

Lakers rally in the fourth behind LeBron James and Dalton Knecht to beat Grizzlies

After losing their previous matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Lakers get their revenge with a 128-123 win Wednesday night at home. Anthony Davis reached a milestone in his career, reaching the 18,000 career points club. He ended the game with 19 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, and three blocks. LeBron James got his third triple-double in a row with 35 points to go with his 14 assists, 12 rebounds and a steal.

Lakers pull away in second half to knock off Raptors

LeBron James had another triple-double and Austin Reaves scored 22 points in the second half to lead the Lakers to a 123-103 win over the Raptors on Sunday. Anthony Davis’ MVP-style dominance continued until he exited the game with an injury in the third quarter. He scored 19 points of his 22 points in the first quarter. He also grabbed four rebounds and a steal.

Lakers earn comfortable win over Sixers in bounceback game

The Lakers’ return home brought with it a return to winning ways. Behind strong showings from Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves and a triple-double from LeBron James, the Lakers earned a fairly comfortable 116-106 win over the depleted Sixers.

The Lakers defense was non-existent as they couldn’t stop the Memphis Grizzlies from scoring, losing 131-114 on Wednesday night. With Anthony Davis and Rui Hachimura ruled out, LeBron James would have to take over the offensive load. He ended the game with 39 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Tonight was also LeBron’s 1,500th career game.
